Mahotsaha Prabhu first came to Mayapur in 1981. "It was amazing because we had the rooms along the boundary fence where we stayed and the long building where he stayed (Srila Prabhupada). We would look out the bars of the windows and it was just pasture as far as the eye could see. And there was this Muslim guy who plowed the field with his oxen every single day.
It has been 25 years since Mahotsaha's last visit.
"Now my jaw is hanging; I am floored. It's a city and it goes on and on in every direction. The positive mood of the local devotees here is astonishing and they have acquired a way of relating to each other on a very cultured level; very down to earth and honest. There is such a sense of being welcomed, a true Vaisnava respect. I am especially awed with Gurukulamaharaja and the preaching he does. Through his example we can be surrendered to the Supreme."
"The whole ToVP will evoke spiritual inspiration and in that way Srila Prabhupada will be exalted. So much love is being put into this project. And in the future we are planning a healing center with accent on relaxation. The Nervous system is an essential part of the whole being and this will help to bring the whole essence of Krsna Consciousness to light. Krsna prema beyond birthright and bodily designations, and I hope that Mayapur Dham will break those barriers and perpetuate Lord Caitanaya's Golden Age.
